#2442 -- a door is open at the heart

2442

7.249

8.ix.26

a door is open at the heart

over the clock a flower grows

were we once not trees?

a crowd of the gone pile on just then

in my own thicket let

you’ll whistle

time seemed not to be passing

and then it passed

safest where no one sees

won’t you please come in

#2441 -- from purest doubt, the poem

2441

7.248

7.ix.26

from purest doubt, the poem

for wise surprise

out of the woods where things have no name

out of a kind of oort loud

comes a comet swing – head fire, tail ice

both ends burning

all sing

or the whole pond frog

and none know why

from creviced recesses least cling

there’s sleep comes back, as in a dream

just a moment, all’s changed

cheese moved

and you were there to witness

there’s nothing more innocent than a question

keep asking

persistence drives on

no one knows what the next line holds

no one knows yet why we’re here

at a window tap tapping

out of the green

why does this bird want in?

#2440 -- and the reality is...

2440

7.247

6.ix.26

and the reality is…

like announcing the winner

that’s what they say

as if we’d all missed it

those big eyes, the teeth

it’s one of those somehows

like a coal dust dial

you can taste it

that’s what the reality is

cat of ninetails too

relentless

we’re outnumbered

the flood was never known before

no warning was received

which bird and which tree?

they’ll tell you too

ear to the ground

the world’s a machine

reality trumps every fiction

they’ve been telling me all my life

with actually this

and you must admit

reality is they mean ‘surrender!’

they have this sure and certain knowledge

a kind of magic pudding

the brat runs off

the cows came home

all my life they’ve been saying ‘get real’

they’ll pinky swear it

they’ll say ‘honestly’, honestly they will

they mean this all quite literally too

that’s gospel

I’m kicking this can down the road

#2439 -- Pandora's

2439

7.246

5.ix.26

Pandora’s

or

how can we fit ourselves into the day?

this or any

so many signs for aspiration

rough truths, such shapes as given rise

light musing upon thing

then the self embroiled

awed up and over

flocks flow green hillward over

make distance of the mind

any day’s improved with silence

here now

stretch and

just a few minutes ahead of myself

have to tempt the jinnee back in the bottle

thre’s the ache and the itch and the inkling

how then act for the best?

we’d need a year, a life, no, more

it’s only ever just step by step

remember where we are

#2438 -- my singularity

2438

7.245

4.ix.26

my singularity

the upload

I’m getting better

faster

gone

and some have said it – ‘heaven’

won’t we all know what to do next?

have you noticed how a flag flies to bits?

the wind and the sun and time

look into your own skin

no mirror required

my avatar apotheosed

some have wished a permanence

thought god that way

thought’s a train

till the rails come off

there’s nothing you’ll have to think then

every idea decays

worlds will spin apart

have I mentioned my uniqueness?

we’ve all had one of those

I dreamt a baby crying

it was saying

he/she was

‘change me, can’t you see

I’m freezing in this shit and piss –
it’s all my own work

there’s nothing I can do’

but there will be no more of that

there’s iron in shall-we-say soul

let one line lead to another

they often will

there’s no one does it quite like me

and that’s for all time too

it goes for you

I’m getting better, faster

it’s just as the end pulls up

then I’ll be in the clouds

then we’ll be good as gone

#2437 -- I have decided it's best to hide

2437

7.244

3.ix.26

I have decided it’s best to hide

everyone’s saying ‘look at me! look at me!’

they are pursued by winged monkeys

they are under the influences

there is some kind fo a marketing ploy

that’s just where I close my eyes

not trying for any god’s attention

it’s not just this latter day weather

the information’s at me from all directions

it’s almost as if I’d have to choose

I have decided it’s best to hide

to absent myself certain griefs, conversation

under a rock, up a tree, in a cave

just pile up soil and straw, go mulch

none of this needful

one hears one’s own heart beat

I have decided it’s best to hide

is there a silence left?

then we’re divided from

ah – the trumpets’ brass blare

the roar of everywhere machine

it’s safest to keep your head in the sand

I have decided to hide in plain sight here

as some few of you must see

#2436 -- the blank

2436

7.243

2.ix.26

the blank

just a peek

or

stare in

fix gaze

stare the page out

till the image

till the words come

until the poem will appear

the blank is heartfel, personal

far down in me

feel it

it’s where ideas are from

… if there were such a mirror as soul

have to stare straight

there are a thousand distractions

we’re from there too

come from the dream

there’s nothing

and you are

who’ll blink first?

every tablet needs a good scrub

there’s a broom to fit every head

the art of seeing what’s not there

making others see it too –

that’s what every shyster spruiks

how cities pour from the clock

the blank!

it is an inspiration!

how much can you cram in there?

how much will you charge?

be loved

what else is to believe?

we have to make the picture ourselves

it’s the first day of a season here

no one has ever known

I’m going back now

… I must leave you

there’s something I left in there

… don’t know what

but we’ll will be needing it soon

it’s never from nothing the blank

I think it’s just where we are

#2435 -- singing for the birds

2435

7.242

1.ix.26

singing for the birds

spring poem

season of another world

a kind of stretch and rise

to first this Spring

to call the slant sun on

in a wilderness of wishes

who’s to know we’re here?

now dust time off

and all to do

day flowers

so we have arrived

I call the fiction of eternity

there is only this

be out and make your midst

green through a leaf to shine

#2434 -- another perfect day in the afterlife

2434

7.241

31.viii.26

another perfect day in the afterlife

I have a garden in mind

and wilder

afoot in woods and ways

at oars

effortless

expect the flimsy

all other days here uncontained

a picnic

and the picnic games

well wafted if we’re here

sunshone afternoon, a dapple

and a shimmer

a glimmer of what was

by the great oak

by the plane

at the fountain

it’s every ghost asks ‘am I here?’

none of this ever ends

there’s a statue of myself

all hands on deck to shape

I will vanish from the all

just so to be remembered

it’s all in your head, you know

we’re deep down in the book

#2433 -- thanks to no one at all

2433

7.240

30.viii.26

thanks to no one at all

intimations of eternity

everyone’s doing me a favour

just being here

just coming along

take the inanimate

what calm! what poise!

my role model

consider the leavings –

how we’re revealed

birds hear me singing

I take a little sunshine

and call upon the truth

and the word forever –

a little wrestle then –

how long do you think that will last?

#2432 -- all bow down

2432

7.239

29.viii.26

all bow down

consume, be silent, die

     – remember that?

and here comes smug money

bold as bold

equal to anything

what a rush to be out, to float

selfless in defenestration

climbing the mountain graph

with the smoke

and with the mirrors

bit of bungee too

there’s a bounce

but money soils itself

just about otherwise colourless

responsibly grey in the gills of the suit

it’s never really looked well

money needs care

may vanish

there’s always been a lot of pretrending

money entertains the biggest delusion

heavenly bodies all go unregarded

must burnish, lick, touch cap, tug forelock

who wouldn’t want in the picture?

everyone’s taking a selfie with money

set the timer countdown

for end of the world

the beautiful towers

all fall down

I give it all

body and soul

won’t you?

know your place

love the machine

and that was my honest day’s toil

#2431 -- a blue god

2431

7.238

28.viii.26

a blue god

Vishnu ekphrastic

monkeys and bears

shakti is Lakshmi

tread on a demon

wrestle chaos

you cannot be over-bedecked

here, hold this snake

it’s a tug-o-war

you can’t have too many hands

we make up a picture of what’s yet to come

and this has all already been

there’s a boar, a man-lion

the plough holder

there’s the future’s warrior on horseback

who doesn’t like a nice bit of worship?

can’t have too many avatars

you can’t have too many names

but a good kip in the cosmic ocean

that’s just a typical day

... lotus rise, mud for complexion

who wouldn’t churn an ocean of milk?

rescue fair damsel from the sea floor?

who wouldn’t wear a halo?

here. hold my conch and mace

just give me a moment

a lolling tongue

you have to balance the earth on your tusks

sometimes you’ll need to work around the rules

to get things back on track

seduce a demon for immortality’s sake

every universe needs a protector

this one dances too

Krsna summons the gopis by way of his flute

shakti is Lakshmi

monkeys and bears

you can’t have too many avatars

the ultimate’s always yet to appear

#2340 -- jetlag

2430

7.237

27.viii.26

jetlag

I keep a shadow in a box

often the arbitrary object appears

cylindrical, calendrical

shape of a bucket

no words

I wish

but they will come

I’m fighting off the signs

sometimes I’m a fish

glow with the dawn

try not to let

there’s long before that

we’re stone

all turning

there’ll be frogsong

dim

try not to let the words

who’ll say a day is full of hours

processional as cloud?

touch now the covers

on an isthmus lit by stain

first kookaburra

first train

second

third

tides of light

in out which

such as a shape occurs

a face or

is it worth it?

scratch

shadow boxing

here’s rush of the headlong city

now we’re coming in to land

with a bump

and a bump

and here we are

all days ago that’s now

#2429 -- the body is a clock

2429

7.236

26.viii.26

the body is a clock

it takes a breeze to know one

touch of all these hands

we are searching for the night

tribe of us

listening out for it

wherever

even under all these hats

I am always receiving the sky

the rest of us are yet to be eaten

take it for granted

take it as read

all around the walls

dripping

any dark does

the sky of where we are

goes just up till gone

the hand’s now a map of what we have held

you can breathe in a garden
