#34 - two poems - tell a tree up

two poems

lost in a night of me all what to do

open heart
down head
keep under keep
mirrors of trouble
time telling
be safe
where in the warning am I?

how many lives
in the dream to dream?
how many dreams in one life?

absent and vanished
so to say gone
still possessed
play among traces

eat this, drink this
droppings behind

much of me bung
still flowering

once waltzed
to a certain shape
out through balcony doors till

all of a nextness
and we must guess

so you have come to the fountain
and I’m still here or here again

how welcome for this little while

to wonder where who why I am

the waking’s where I’m lost

tell a tree up

by its own legend
from fire
careless of the truth
trees are

still tell the tree
from sunshine, rain

on tiptoes to touch
and leaf it – stretch!
all green and flower
eye to lull

there is a sea of somewhere else
and breathes its way as well

melodious as hidden worlds
our centuries will take

by genius of it
once were the whole landed
under cloud

a crowd, like clan
fanfared
sky flung
thoughtless in knowing

from drought
leaf back
it’s like home went
and now it’s home

I call a tune to it
no common name
but drip and catch
come seasons briefly

trees make weather
tell
there friended

see every way out
look every way in
tree and takes the eye with it

all these untold

they are the imagination of wings
where else the limbs to light?

tell tree and deeper than listening

ants wander to the end of it
shoulder what they can afford
and turn around for home

.

how many lives
in the dream to dream?
how many dreams in one life?
