its where the mind
goes
and not the mind alone
behind closed eyes
are others
anonymous as I
there’s face of one
loved
a face behind the
brush
of calculation, of
concern
some days a street
pours in
you don’t get away
from this crowd
a roomful staring
least rudeness I achieve,
eyes shut
you might not be able
to see
what have I done
what will I do
there has been time
till now
all acts are of
memory
to count the beads a
comfort
self-confession without
the bones
this is between me
and my making
it’s for someone
