it’s always time to
be elsewhere
creed of the peripatete
and now, an hour past myself
still here
to walk and gather
thought to word
to image paper
to colour and to ink
to board
still time
and push back
make
my intervention in the world
afoot
as if spun
could go any way
as if rotating till
set out under a blindfold
after the counting’s done
what if the wheels spun?
music on regardless
and what if I were too far gone?
smoke told?
it’s for me to
accept the day
nearest the skin
I world it
wonder
what if the head flew off?
it’s always time to be elsewhere
and so I go of course
and so I will go on
