things
from the sky
wisp and glow, glitter
are high as far
must have imagined us
bladder’s worth, wild hair
boxes and space junk
things from the sky
shine like a mirror
sky chimes
stars fall, just for instance
to remind us of the general direction
these cheapest tricks
as anyone knows
of course there are biblical plagues
all kinds attested
the wail and gnash
things from the sky
such as ourselves
each sudden as another
agelessly bright
we each only see
they burn to be
call paradise up
nor are they for sale
prayers caught up in cloud
then what’s the rain like?
how does it mean?
things from the sky
spill shadows
dance up
as of a sea
show
we’ll soon be falling
soon be down
thunder and lightning for nemesis
and we ourselves – of the million any one moment aloft
–
are where we leave selves until time
we are such things of the sky
