reflecting for a remembrance shrine

stand by the lantern

like in a dream

in front of the big gate

blur now

Invasion Day

Holocaust Day

one thing and another

shall we mention

Palestine

Hiroshima

Srebenica

Rwanda

our two shadows as one

your lips

when we are marching in the mud and cold

on this day

here’s hate

with the gun

and the cases, the shoes

all piled

and we’ll clear them out of the way

make day bright

surely tomorrow you’ll feel

blue above and the garden goes

breathe a sigh

room to stretch

built all of this ourselves

such as all call evil

but far beyond that now

remember when we were vermin

chased along with a broom

what pleasantries

the golden classics of those days!

blue bird over

and don’t sit under

don’t go walking down

insignia! the arrows!
the poison and the blankets

a chimney just for bones

no, not a single soul but me

and built all of this out of bricks and steel

built it all from money

the thousand years death

I’ll wait for you, the whole night through

often dig your own grave

from silence, when the late mists turn

not until I come marching home

they’re touchy bastards

whose families we’ve murdered

you’d think we’d done it all to them

you’d think they’d hearts like ours
