spring tricks of the garden
(an afternoon)
photopoem / fotilapoemo
it is time
bright leafly
and flutter too
blue as deep as far
abuzz
in the underchimes
old dairy with lemons
with farmer’s friends
here’s orchard light
where the bible was
spent
a good day I mean
corridors, chambers
shadows of choice
potato weight mulching
jumpy spider in the
sink
some things kept just
alive
and linger
all afoot
and look!
up in the arms of the
camphor laurel
(secret tree I love)
birds of a distance
jasmine and tangle
everyone so up
all in bloom
twelve apostles
scatter to branches
and who can be bothered
to count
a view today
from where the dunny
was
thirty years ago
and still here!
black eyed Susan – the tree’s
plea for help
mulberry that was once
stump
now with kit for scale
fully accoutred in
banksia brush
first mosquito tries
its virus
too slow to begin
but they will be many
here come the pigeons
from roof
those two!
a pond reflects upon
itself
peaceful
as if we were the
beginning
here’s no one else’s
land
blessed breeze
in the honey locust
these are some of the
places I have lost myself
these are the voices in
my head
it is here that I’ve
been all along
as if we were the only
ones
