#463 - if I had an extra hour

5.iv.21

if I had an extra hour

breathe in

bed of course

throw questions to

mainly however on foot

through these fronds

and peak

it would consist of mansion ages

I’d stop practising

I’d get the job done

I’d…

I’d wear it on my sleeve, not swallow

…wouldn’t go shopping

I’d look in the boxes

get to the bottom of the fridge

if I had an extra hour

no, I calculate I’d need three or four

then a little in the way of moments to accompany

and eight more lives, a slept year

new house for every dream

and ancient also

I’d dryclean, sweep, polish - No!

what am I thinking?

we’d have that conversation

if I had one more hour

I’d make it last

I’d stage a little resurrection

call it Sunday too

be born again

go on a cave crawl

towards a bath and dinner

catching a breeze as I go

really not as ever before but

and take this hour as far as it goes

climb it like a cloud

the afternoon laughter

a backyard thereof

birdbath preen splash

I would test out all of our chairs

if I had one more hour

then this would be the day

to think what I could do with two!

it would be the garden

lake still, oars up, stop the world

I’d be walking tide along

shall we make splendid of the shade?
then autumn still

and secret where we find the hour

like a poem harbour midst

cranes draw high

just for the view

just for fun

and maybe arrive on time
