and at this very moment
poem with Dr You’s masters class
in a forest
on the beach
in a dream
in the deep sea
fish is a star
on dry land every ant is a hero
and at this very moment
we meet the god of Don’t-Waste-this-World
says ‘eat what’s on your plate’
this god has too much rubbish to shovel
it’s too hard
all the muck keeps coming at
of course it’s the humans again
it’s a tough being a god in this world
and here’s the King of the Ants
a kind of cannibal too, hard working guy
Chief of Waste Disposal
because everybody else’s waste
more or less looks after itself
ants are aliens
you know that, I suppose?
the ants come to their sandcastle spaceship
millions of years they have prepared for this day
Earth has just become too much to deal with
ants think to return to their home universe
it’s not quite parallel
but everyone has six legs there
so things are lot more normal
of course you can’t guess where
the ants don’t know either
it’s such a long time since they came
if they go though
the gods of garbage will suffer
but an ant’s gotta do…
when I am something else
it’s like that
everyone flees
to be themselves
often to survive
the ones who were paying attention
they are the furthest off now
things swimming fly
and creeping things swim
there is a gate through which each must pass
ants mostly
you wouldn’t know this though
it’s not that kind of thing
we need to stop making more all the time
just hang out
mulch down
someone will survive
everyone in the sea is already a hero
there’s no need to try so hard
