Hunan misty
an auspicion
ekphrastic for Dong Qichang’s ‘Landscape after the Rain’
the king, in his dream
meets with a goddess
clouds cannot be seen in cloud
a kingdom dissolves to mist
and the king goes on
in time’s absence
you cannot see
the rivercraft, fish
the day indoors
the frog is less than seen
under leaf, the ant trails on
gravity notwithstanding
how is there light?
and how long
you cannot see the way through the wood
rain fallen, falling, rain to fall
a picture has its mountain
a mountain hides its trees in trees
clear heaven over
a clean sky now
enchantments
song of the bird understood to another
all these treasures of the unknown
the king is what?
loves, lives lost here
it’s how the world leans where we are
when we are out of time
