life has always been
larger than me
I woke to it
slept through too
I never climbed the tree
nor journeyed to the centre
I work my bones to fingertips
thus touch the larger scheme
it’s every sense to itself
and all the corners full
I had as much uniqueness
as any as each as all
leaf and even midst of
where the ant went more
I could take off my pants
and be free but
life was always larger
oceans and all inhabited
feathers up above
had a halleluiah back in the Bible
locust field wave of a breeze
and golden – it was the trumpet told
someone threw a roof on top
shrunk for a hat and then the wheel
kicked up own dust and even there
things that they invented!
walls taller than the truth!
it’s possible I’m disappearing
used to be able to
fell out of the tribe before myself
no one knew all of the words
it’s just the one vast we attend
the ball round blue
all far far spark
incomprehensible verdure to rise
this is my best oblivion
I stand before the hour
unbowed and until now go on
