what love made me
under the chuppah
must admire
it came through every calamity
pledge of how the world
a veil brought over
open now
as is the heart
there is the way they were treated and still
so sudden this was
as the tree in the bird
plant a cedar
plant a pine
later build from branches
could be a sarong on sticks
and we can both get under
is it a waltz this elsewhere?
doors, windows, every way
tap toes
some people need never remind to bright
and others, like us, trick strings to life
a song from the lips
must remember who we were
I think they all stood here to promise
how many hearts
down through time?
whole book of rules to break
still crank the sun
so little to start
but the garden
and one day
walk into Spring together
golden because so
all afternoon light easy
under an open sky
that love of those far back to the Bible
beyond
and further still
did death part?
