the thing before and the thing it will be

not admitting of degree

but every organism has it

every least amount of matter

each moment

 

the grassblade, grain

in acts of

and in rudeness instance, sly aside  

 

nor is fluff lint

every dizzy spin is different

together two may ironize

 

but never again

never the same

never was ever before

 

not two singings of a song

but changed

as we are with the words, the tune

though tone evolved

old context done and

 

kickback relax

each here we are

 

new bathtoy

no two squeaks of the mouse

or if the teeth of the trap come down

 

tricks of instance, warp, weft

of prophecy

 

haircut for fresh episode

not the encounter as dreamt

 

my next thought, your last

 

the numbers and the daylit words

what’s better left and hark the angels

 

each eternity another

 

no dictionary frogs consult

nor we before croak

 

no two wilts are one
