#740 - remember when everyone was alive

11.i.22

740

3.11

remember when everyone was alive

and things mattered

never knew a world so solid

since spun

that was a time of life

and brought each other home to show

never knew how hum towards

or dizzy we’d become

when everyone lived

teeth smooth to tongue

words few it seems from now

the view? never even thought

the forest would be fire

and sea rise

when everyone was alive

fountains of delight to dance

we were up to cloud (mush mist)

world creatured with whomever we know

and now so far say sadly gone

all just learning tricks we were

and how to keep afloat

mote, moments of intensity

found how a sunbeam showed

in sticky weather also

we were the open book (curl pages)

still coming into language

are still

would go all night then

we rose from the soil

and zombie Sunday went again

hair of a helluva dog

time stood patiently outside

time wouldn’t pound on the door

yes all this while alarms were ringing

now so few asking what’s to be done

and here we are

read these lines long after me

how we never signed up for a life

when everyone was alive
