someone had to

time had been called

 

 

markets stood still

it was pancake Sunday

till the pan claimed need of a rest

 

gave away assumptions

stopped kidding ourselves

 

feet had a furlough

lovely!

 

sun downed tools

everything eclipsed

nice long siesta!

 

head took a holiday

never gave a second thought

 

ladder had a horizontal

everything kept down

 

trees came to a standstill

no one could tell

birds rehearsed

in nests

 

low energy so outage

and matter decided it didn’t

in that case

 

time took time off

it was as if everything were done

 

breath went

then we were clinically gone

no biggie

 

world and storm!

you might have thought

at least a skeleton staff

it was all souls day

at Kirk Alloway

 

bible got to revelations

bit of a pause after that

 

tether loosed

and the whirlwind wild

but chaos exhausted itself

it does!

come to the bottle’s green bottom

 

galaxies expanding to wit’s end

something to look forward to –

this is how it’s going to be

 

just climb for a breeze

and be gone
