listening to the heart
I, echo of all others
grown over
and throw a voice on
a little dizzy with
roads running
got us where?
beginningish
and endly
rolls blood
around the beast
incorporeal
in other worlds
so am the
message sent
it has this
turning loose
say foible of
forget
the clock on
a roll
and Christmas
(a gathering
for decoration)
is this for
such a one?
who’ll ask?
heart has a
next beat
and a last
the heart
with its hills
drift
beats out
and I am
sometimes grateful
a literal
thing
in the garden
for toil
& lie
down
steadying
self
for the night
loss
the kindness
rules
flower
opening here
let it back
into the chest
treasure the
woods on occasion
come paws to
mine
feed from the
tune
lay chord
over the half rhyme
bright
scratch
behind ears
more chairs
than I can sit in
I am dictated
to
lines dotted
where a border might
or else
explorers still
how otherwise
discovered?
though we
were always home
and it tells
keep the ship
steady
a breath
connection
who throws a question
catches light
what ancestor
will say truth’s done?
has never had
the heart
has this ever
been published before
the unpacked
heart’s all this that
have an ear
to the ground
it’s for the
life of me
and mine to
yours
time tells
take to the
clouds
will wisp
who dares us
out to day
from dark
heart?
densest
foliage there
bumphled in folds
there are no
further stars
there is no
deeper well
it was the
animal’s decision
little as we
are
