More lovely than Spring!

When contact tracers tear out hair

in Sydney – city of despair –      

while Melbourne’s bells all ring!                                                             

 

Though pride has oft presaged a fall,

the unmasked yet frequent the mall

in Fairfield, Auburn, where-you-want.

The mounted police are on the hunt

 

for anyone who isn’t white

or won’t obey the rules.

It never works – the lockdown light.

Those New South Welsh – such fools!

 

Melbourne in Schadenfreude!

When birds do sing

‘suck eggs, Gladys,

you’ve had your fling.’

 

Shut up the border!

Big belly laugh.

Take off your masks –

All sing!

 

In Melbourne!

More lovely than Spring!
