#529 - a halflife of elsewhere

14.vi.21

529

a halflife of elsewhere

for sleep to dream again

have you noticed the namelessness?

people places, days and years

come to the same stairs gone

blank walls, the moving out dust

feel the floor fall away though it’s there

can’t say colourless where an earworm feeds

could call telltale

the view in the well of the drowning

everyone yet there -- kings back to beginning

mummy babooshka

I’m in your dream

absent as

and only yesterday trod this way

as in corner of the eye still there

tetherless the ancestors appearing

fade to stone to air these lines

(rolled out this day and use-by)

you remember it’s an art to forget

pile of the carpet after all this

here we are, crimes scenic

gone the map but the hunch remains

pomp! heads full of such rot

like that with a world spun on

I know you by the lightest touch

by wink

and later maybe lust

I’d give you my card

but it’s gone
