dog’s balls

snap at a housefly, consider!

sniff, lick

I am encouraging Brian to paint dog’s balls

I realize that this is ambiguous 

I’m confident he’ll work it out 

neglected subject

and why?

they are beautiful, lightly haired

fecund betimes 

a kind of undercarriage 

stick out like so they say 

(hard to frame)

lick here to seal

all because can

although your domesticated wolf is mainly jaw 

having hound sit is of course a challenge 

downward dog popular 

but loves the tummy rub

so frequent peripatetics 

a kennel coaxing 

could be by bowl 

though some would call 

palette … here’s brush 

by fang to master, come

bring pipe and paper too 

by drool and doggy breath

boy dog has this erogeny 

whiffy canvas some say 

low slung to drag 

rare in pyjamas

take the ruff with…

few play this on the pornograph

yet it’s half the tale of breed 

and how young pups 

cave canem

whistle them up 

however hard we look to the mirror 

consider dog as dinosaur 

or bear laid 

honey in the bowl

painting of pets is genre too 

lucrative perhaps 

bury a boner to dig 

dog’s balls are a controversial delicacy

cook with the ladle 

and beat till dead 

goes round itself to sniff

where tail is always pointing 

truth is the growl of it 

get up with fleas

note the subtle sea surface of mood

consider a too-hard toke
