#267 - bee loud and frogsbother

267
bee loud and frogsbother

(name of a pub or a firm of landscape gardeners?)

in mandarin Spring

bee loud and bright

a last fire inside

dust falls now

shows sunshine

days at vanishing stretch

now is the time

where webs have been worked

all spiders out

for their window walks

safe behind screen

in the afterbreeze still

by branch and leaf and twigging

tracks in the half sky

anchored to tell

rocket row, glade

bee loud and bright

now is a time to be sunshone

tractor rattle

wallaby standing

pond weeded pink by now

take the moment

come to be sunshone

stand and collect

in moonheights too

the day a bet each way

seen through

frog fronding invisible

lily wide round

a stag elk hang who knows

world better unnamed after all

slow cows make fond in bellow

and there goes silage

with the dog before

black, white and tongue all puff

queue to their own dole ferment

so begins the koel

for damned persistence

insect cloud and shade play

it’s here we are

still warm in day’s entrails

keeping a kind of conversation

just with favourite words

all this went on between forests

in the privacy of our own sun shone

birds on a breeze go inkling after

want some of this yet for the back of my head

and come among them now

I hear the long croak presage

dance of the voices

soon frogs will raise the darkness

anatomize a beat

by breath green –

case of the unseen leap

in mandarin Spring

a last fire inside

days at a vanishing stretch
