#144 - because a door was closed

because a door was closed

it’s easy to say
I took the tree up
caught a cloud
went the other way

because the portal went
I ran towards and from the truth
I was pursued
and made these favourite fists a home
stood saluting there

around around the breathless buzz
sun shone the wonders all arrayed

because this one door closed
I sent a cv off
to reinvent all selves

I was waking to light
however little all there was
just the least glimpse revealed
cloud of insects, train

there’s no way back into the dream

I creature it outside

wind slipped in around still
must have been my breath
and little wrestle with
who won?

often mistake hours for each other
generalize from there

a door into the day
my window in the woods

no one reads this writing but me

a here-I-am and it’s-my-turn
a sparse mythology

because a door was
someone snuck under
ghosts came through

a window shut
still keep a look out

it was so long closed
I lost the key
I rusted in the lock
no one could see in that way

from paradise by single sin
lockout laws apply

did the bitterness
got over it

I saw the empty air
and knew
better out than in
