the rains are over us
a vanishing in woods and so
see days later in the tree
you’ll say night slept here
with tricks like flowers yet
doesn’t it mark time?
arrows pointing to give heart
drowsy dozing so we are
aren’t we jamming with the rain?
so will arise a rose
sky bathed
tinkle till second third fall
leaf comes still
are days not drenched
in toil of it, a melody apart?
sometimes like a great paw spread
often shone to touch
all variations on a puddle
see where now it lies
frogsworth and splash hear tell
there’s no complete collection of
but feel the steam and rise
look up for an opening
or here’s the rain restored
smell it in forming soil yet
hear whispers of
we’re had in mind
rain’s over us
again
