shower
joy of it
eyes up
expressing wonder
built for days
in workshop faraway
say west
first notes
its genius
all fall for that
with without the thunder
crafted
the real stuff
stretch trumpeting
the squeeze
as if we’d never known before
grown fat on this idea
like taking out a loan
a leaf uncurls
green for the grey
as if a tree came
just add light
as if a tree came down
I got lost in it
weeks and days
must have took a wrong turn
come down the creek
like Christmas
blame heaven
for this trust
I call puddle
make mud of it
and measure
as if a thing foretold
can’t hear a thing
would still a clock
beyond buckets
still have to catch
it’s habit
like a pond returned
from sky say
now half way
must play for it
dance daggily
now half way full
gravity’s slave
this stuff is

who wouldn’t soak in
it thrills your every animal
hands spread
palms upturned to touch

frogs are all telling
