#1638 - in my dream

1638

5.177

26.vi.24

in my dream

floating in the river

some paddling too

somewhere to get

in the wash and the wake

once wouldn’t wish in

sleep for an imperfection

dog and I are following each other

around the room

the peaceful sameness in our ways

the mild machine beside me purrs

van drives off

with the back door up

a kind of redistribution

soon the whole town knows

the sane lit day

clocks singing

#1637 - the wishing

1637

5.176

24.vi.24

the wishing

aubade

it is a leaving

day begins from the loss

left handed

here’s egg’s other end

a roll the other way

a midst of all

as far as slept

abandon dreams at this depart

beginning from a rise of day

come bright

bed edging

in the breath of each

my evidence

we are trying to read

back into the night

whirl of the world

horizon treed

a howl for all first things

then here’s my tribe of light

#1637 - to the least corner of the rain

1637

5.176

24.vi.24

to the least corner of the rain

I come with crew of bare thoughts

my all this sure and certain

brick piers of the known

sometimes even veranda standing

always some angle

where the moss struck

it in the power of the rain to stop?

where every leaf is carried away

till houses we could call them

doors to weather

in hours, let’s say

from a corner of the eye

to all the world there is

absent the mind

day’s where?

#1636 - winter’s middle and a tickle too

1636

5.175

23.vi.24

winter’s middle and a tickle too

this mist of mine

so Sunday still

the chimney at words

from a fire

it’s as with the birds

one sings to the grey

thunder piano though

this is another country

days soaking

and the rainspeech creek

by leaf by gum

don’t mind me

don’t bother to knock

I’m just vanishing here

#1635 - hello big yellow

1635

5.174

22.vi.24

hello big yellow

apostrophe in absentia

hello big yellow

I hope you don’t mind me addressing you in the abstract

seeing as I don’t have a clear line of sight right now

it’s binawhile

you’ve let things slip lately

come over all cloudy, grey

and yes, we can always do with some rain

but

they say you’re coming back today

so far I don’t see any sign

these rumours, you know, are all very well

and I guess when you’re in a one star system

you have to take what you get

and true, it’s worse when there’s too much of you

and everyone’s on fire

(too hot the eye of heaven, and so on)

right now though we’re rubbing hands, stamping feet

today

I’ve saluted you thirty six times

little hard on the hip

but that’s devotion!

I hope you appreciate it

no, I won’t look you in the eye

I’m shy

let me say

(and I know the message takes a few minutes to reach you

so things well might have changed by then)

you’d be like a lemon to shine

but brighter, more golden

to hang from the dripping tree

you’re a bit of a rasion d’être for us

you mightn’t know it but

we all look up to you

you’re the kind of nuclear fusion we appreciate way out here

(good safe distance)

so flare away!

forget the spots!

(everyone gets them)

my roof is waiting, batteries too

we might like a shower at some stage

big yellow!

please put in an appearance today

#1634 - placating a serial killer

1634

5.173

21.vi.24

an aubade for concert pieces

placating a serial killer

for Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Scheherazade’

let me tell you a story

brave sailor and the treasure cave

what wiles!

a flying rug

sensuous taut strings

here’s harp beside piquant

market spices

a major third apart

wild tales

wilder nights!

from murderous hate

trill further, love

you smell of fear

it presses me

let me tell you a story

a magic lamp, great riches

an X on every door

lost cities

and a robot horse

these all come marching to the dance we’re in

a very private thing

antique science

poets known by heart

philosophies expounded

skills for survival

how jolly the laugh along

how bright the sword

my sudden one

let me tell you a story

for we are short of time

tell on

night’s still

intention veiling

triumph stain

for you my prey my dear

my death

so sad

so far

down deep

dark calm

lust sings

a violent wordless whirl

then here’s cruel day

first light will be for a blade

come my pretty cadence

be one more like the rest

by hornstroke

waltz around the fact

here for my little death and yours

go on with the story, go on

not yet…

you’ll wake with the tune

if you wake

#1633 - there was always so much world

1633

5.172

20.vi.24

there was always so much world

and now there’s more

these adventures in the actual

all thing about

the outer inner light

there’s time for a weigh-me-down

eye after these least

or sometimes listen for the night

everything is like a body

breeze up in these limbs

it comes from all directions

a world

we are on the face of it

shadow flit

there’s time remains

in all this breath belonging

still the other side of the year

way of a track unwound
