wear stone                head trickle

 

imagine not what you are

 

it’s hoof by breeze         by breath by time

 

who are we so come?         trip here

 

there’s claw of lizard sunning

as moss does, like the face of the Earth

 

hack a track but the bush grows back

take twig for the meaning of fire

 

let snake by root and twine

branch out – leaf will gather

 

splash is the task of puddle and hoof

 

let slip a word of mud

you’ll work up a sweat on your way
